The leaves of Saraca asoca grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaf is compound, paripinnate, with 4-6 pairs of leaflets. The leaflets are glossy, dark green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaflets are coriaceous and glabrous on both sides.
The leaflets have a 5-6 cm long petiolule.
The leaflet of Saraca asoca is 8-12 cm long and about 3 cm wide. The shape of the blade is lanceolate, the apex is acute-acuminate, the base is rounded and the margins are entire.
The venation of the leaflets is reticulate with a prominent midrib.
