The leaves of Senna auriculata grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaf is compound, paripinnate, about 15 cm long and 5 cm wide with a pair of large (1.5 cm across) foliaceous stipules at the axil of the stalk.
The leaflets are bright green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaflet are chartaceous with minute hairs on the margins and on the midrib beneath.
The leaflets have a 1 mm long petiole.
The leaflet of Senna auriculata is 2-2.5 cm long and 1 cm wide. The shape of the blade is oblong, the apex is mucronate, the base is obliquely rounded and the margins are entire.
