The leaves of Pleiospermium alatum grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaves have a 2.5-3 cm long and winged petiole.
The leaf is trifoliate, dark green coloured above and paler beneath. The leaf is coriaceous and glabrous on both sides.
The leaf of Pleiospermium alatum is 7-10 cm long and 5-10 cm wide. The leaflets are 4-8 cm long and 2-4 cm wide. They are obovate, the apex is obtuse and emarginate, the base is cuneate or attenuate and the margins are entire.
The venation of the leaf is pinnate with a prominent midrib.
The leaflets are gland-dotted.
The crushed leaves are very fragrant (lemon odour).
