The leaves of Ochna obtusata grow alternately on the stem (spirally arranged).
The leaf is simple, bright green-coloured above and paler beneath. The leaf is coriaceous and glabrous on both sides.
The leaves are sessile.
The leaf of Ochna obtusata is 6-10 cm long and 3-4 cm wide. The shape of the blade is elliptic, the apex is acute and sometimes obtuse, the base is rounded, slightly cordate and the margins are finely serrate and aristate.
The venation of the leaf is reticulate with a prominent midrib.

The young leaves of Ochna obtusata are very glossy and pinkish bronze-coloured.
